Bernice L. Cohen, 80, of Duluth died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 28, 1918, to Robert and Jenny (Kopeland) Liebson in Kansas City, Mo. Bernice graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City in 1936. She was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II from 1942 to 1945, attaining the rank of sergeant. She married Isadore Cohen on May 20, 1947, in Kansas City. Bernice worked as an educational assistant at East High School from 1970 through 1980.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore, on May 14, 1995.

She is survived by sons Mark Cohen of Duluth and Michael (Daleta Sawyer) Cohen of Knoxville, Tenn.; and grandchildren Ramsey Cohen and Graham Cohen.

Service: 11 a.m. Sunday in Temple Israel. Memorials may be directed to East High School Scholarship Fund. Arrangements by Johnson Mortuary.
